Pursuant to the authority vested in the Superintendent by Ohio Revised Code §3901.011, the Ohio Department of Insurance (“Department”) has developed a web based Annual Report of Ohio Health Insurance Business (“Report”). Every company that is licensed and writing health insurance in the State of Ohio shall electronically complete the Report on an annual basis.
The purpose of the Report is to collect statistical data on the Ohio health insurance market. Utilization of this data will include, but is not limited to, providing information regarding health insurance coverage on Ohio citizens, determining proper assessments for reinsurance pools, and furnishing information to Ohio consumers regarding the availability of Open Enrollment coverage.
The Report should be accessed and completed at:

Companies will be assigned a unique User ID and Password by the Department.
For 2003 reporting, 2002 data shall be filed on or before November 15, 2003. Beginning in 2004, the Report shall be filed on or before the first of April, for the prior year’s data.
Report only Ohio health insurance business from the previous calendar year. All online instructions and definitions should be reviewed prior to completing the Report. The “Type of Business” definitions provided are specific only to the Report. Report data will be validated against annual statement data (as submitted to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners) after March 15 of each year. Discrepancies between the Report data and annual statement data must be corrected or explained. The Company Statement and Open Enrollment portions of the Report must also be completed before submission.
Companies required to hold Open Enrollment may report the date their capacity is met at any time during the year. Open Enrollment availability will be listed on the Department website until capacity is met or the Open Enrollment period ends.
